A HANDFUL OF CHARACTERS

 

Jürgen Prochnow

– as Konrad Hausnick

Prochnow, born in 1941, made his international breakthrough in 1981 in the lead as the submarine commander of Petersen's DAS BOOT. This was followed by roles in Hollywood such as in David Lynch's DUNE, starring as the villain in BEVERLY HILLS COP II, a role in HURRICANE SMITH, alongside Madonna in the erotic thriller BODY OF EVIDENCE as well as with Sylvester Stallone in the science fiction film JUDGE DREDD. In 1996 Prochnow starred in THE ENGLISH PATIENT and in 1997, again under Petersen's direction, in AIR FORCE ONE. Since 2019, Prochnow has come back to Germany, again living in his hometown Berlin.

Milena Pribak

For 11-year-old Milena, this performance was her first lead role in a film. Her favorite scene
was breaking into Konrad's house at the beginning of the film, because when will you ever get the chance of doing so in normal life? She was starring in commercials and is now in the process of casting for lead roles in TV series and feature films.

Anja Schiffel

Anja Schiffel trained at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Rostock from 1996 to 2000, followed by engagements at the Schauspiel Essen, the Volkstheater in Vienna and the Osnabrück Theatre. In 2002 Anja Schiffel was awarded the Aalto Stage Prize for Young Artists. Since then she has appeared in many television and cinema films, including KING OF THE RAVENS by Piotr Lewandowski, ARE YOU HAPPY by Max Zähle and DREILEBEN – KOMM MIR NICHT NACH by Dominik Graf.

 

 

Anja Schiffel

Anja Schiffel trained at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Rostock from 1996 to 2000, followed by engagements at the Schauspiel Essen, the Volkstheater in Vienna and the Osnabrück Theatre. Since then she has appeared in many television and cinema films, including KING OF THE RAVENS by Piotr Lewandowski, ARE YOU HAPPY by Max Zähle and DREILEBEN – KOMM MIR NICHT NACH by Dominik Graf.

 

Pegah Ferydoni

Thurba’s mother Born in Tehran, Pegah Ferydoni came to Germany in the 1980s with her parents at the age of two. Pegah first appeared to a broad public when she played the strict young Muslim girl Yagmur Öztürk in the cult comedy series TURKISH FOR BEGINNERS, hosted the “zdf.kulturpalast” and appeared in Shirin Neshat’s award-winning film WOMEN WITHOUT MEN as well as in A DYSFUNCTIONAL CAT by Susan Gordanshekan. Since October 2019 she has been the police unit boss Sarah Kahn in SOKO HAMBURG. Pegah also continues to be active as a presenter, regularly interviewing authors for the digital Suhrkamp format “Suhrkamp DISKURS”.
